Billy Sunday was led to the Lord by Sarah Clarke, a mission worker at the Pacific Garden Mission in Chicago, in 1886. A group of mission workers had gone out preaching and singing in the streets of Chicago, and invited many folks to come to the mission to hear more. Although Sunday and his baseball teammates at first mocked these mission workers, Sunday followed the group to the mission and was Saved that night.
